Are you looking for a fun and inexpensive gift this Christmas? Look no further because camera strap covers are fantastic for any photog. Whether it is for your favorite family photographer or your favorite family member they will love this handmade gift that you can customize to fit their personality. Even if you don’t know how to sew this is a great learning project.
Here is what you need:
-2 strips of fabric: 23″ long x 2.75″ wide
-1 strip of fusible fleece: 23″ long x 2.75″ wide
-1 strip of fabric: 3.5″ long x 2.75″ wide
-trimmings like lace, ruffles, ribbon, etc
1. Begin by adding your trimming to one of the pieces. I sewed my lace to the piece just along the edge.
2. To create a pocket, take the smaller piece and fold over the end 1/4″, iron flat, and fold over another 1/4″, iron flat. Top stitch (stitch along the fold) the fold in place. Place the pocket on top of the fabric piece that does not have the trim. Pin and the two pieces together along the sides.
3. Iron on the fusible fleece to one of the fabric pieces.
4. Pin the two pieces together with right sides together along 1 side. Sew the two pieces together using 1/4″ seam.
5. Open the pieces up with right sides facing up and iron flat. Turn over so right side is down and fold over the ends 1/4″, iron flat, fold over another 1/4″, iron flat. Sew the fold down on both ends.
6. Flip the pieces so right sides are facing and pin along the side. Sew the two pieces together to make a tube.
