B.E.S.T. hosts Youth Sports Camps at its indoor facilities for children from potty-trained up to age 12. Spring Break Kidz Kamp: Greek Week. March 13-17. Campers ages 5-12 will explore ancient Greece by learning about the mythology from that time, and the contributions of Greece’s philosophers, mathematicians and scientists and more! Spring Break Kidz Kamp: The Great Outdoors. March 20-24. Campers ages 5-12 will get out into the fresh air outside. Learn the history of our National Parks and all the beauty nature has to offer. Learn about the nations cross country hiking trails like the PCT, Great Divide and Appalachian trail. From camping knowledge to learning about the 7 natural wonders of the world, there is plenty of inspiration to explore. Breakthrough Basketball

This specialized 3-day camp will give kids grades 5-10 the drills and instruction you need to become a top-flight shooter who stands out from the competition. Go into season ready to increase your shooting percentage and range with better mechanics and more confidence in your shot. Archery (co-ed, ages 8-12). This beginner course teaches its participants the skills required to safely and effectively use a bow and arrow. Over a six-week period, archers will work with instructors to improve their stance, drawing, aiming, and shooting techniques. All tools and equipment is provided. Soccer Clinics (co-ed, ages 5-12). This clinics will give participants a chance to learn the rules and develop fundamentals through skill work and drills as well as play as a team during scrimmages. Soccer shirts will be provided for the clinic. This clinic is the perfect place for kids to start learning the sport while having fun! All skill levels and abilities are welcome.

Golf (co-ed, ages 8-12). The beginner level program teaches participants in grades K-6th the fundamentals and mechanics of the game with the help of golf professionals from Dobson Ranch Golf Course. The intermediate level program teaches participants in grades 3rd-6th how to improve their game, reinforce proper technique and get experience playing a few holes each week with the help of golf professionals from Dobson Ranch Golf Course. Participants must have completed a City of Mesa Youth Sports or other beginner level golf class in order to enroll in intermediate level. Equipment provided.

Playball Multi-sport (co-ed, ages 5-12). This clinic is the perfect opportunity for kids to learn and play a variety of sports (flag football, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball/baseball, track and field, ultimate frisbee and kickball). Participants will have the chance to play a new sport each week using individual and partner-based drills and scrimmages. Equipment provided. Exception: participants must provide own shin guards on soccer day.

Find your Dark side at this musical base Spring Break Camp: Mischievous Melodies! Students will dig deep into strange, unusual, & villainous ballads of Broadway musicals, Lion King, Rapunzel & more! Spring Break Camp: Fused Glass Mosaics for Teens ages 13 – 18. This 3-day glass camp will keep teens engaged as they explore several exciting fused glass techniques. On day one we’ll be making custom iron oxide decals and fused glass components. For day two we’ll begin to cut, chip, and arrange our embellishments into original fused glass tiles, nightlights and/or suncatchers. We’ll finish up our projects on day three just in time for a glass-blowing demonstration in the hotshop. March 13-15. 9 a.m. to noon. $82. Registration required. Let’s Make Animals! An Intro to the Art of Needle Felting. Ages 10 – 13. Students will learn how to needle felt as they create a fun, 3D animal sculpture of their choice. Needle felting is such a popular fiber art with so many creative options for exploring your own designs. This is an easy to learn, fun, and tactile class that will teach students how to practice this art in a safe manner while allowing them to develop skills which will stay with them for a lifetime. All supplies will be provided and students will be able to bring home a kit on the final day of class allowing them to continue exploring this art form at home. All kids need to bring is their own creativity and a reference picture of the animal that they want to create. March 13 – 14. 9 a.m. to noon. $82. Lunch for Campers! Munch & Make. Ages 10 – 13. Students continuing onto the afternoon fiber arts class, from the morning camp, will have this opportunity to eat lunch while designing some fun animal hybrid designs. Sketching and planning for future fiber art work is a necessary element to developing this skill. Additional info will be provided on what makes a successful 3D character design. $20. March 13 – 14. Under the Sea: An Intro Wet Felting a Wool Painting. Ages 10 – 13. Students will learn the basics of wet felting by creating their own under the sea themed wool painting. In this class, students will use fiber and textiles to create a solid wall hanging that can then be mounted or framed. We will explore how the magical quality of wool allows these fibers to link together to create an amazing artwork. Students should be prepared to use water, soap, and agitation (jn the form of rolling their piece with a wooden dowel or PVC pipe) to mend their fibers into one solid fabric. What a rewarding process it is to take “fluff” and turn it into art. This is an exciting field of fiber arts that allows for advancement into making clothes and fashion design. All supplies will be provided and students will take home a kit so they can continue to explore this art form at home. Students should bring their creativity, a reference picture of an underwater scene (optional), and dress for some physical activity. March 13 – 14. 1 to 4 p.m. $82.
