Love my ‘Hood: Downtown Mesa Dine Around

0

If you haven’t noticed by now we are big fans of what is happening in Downtown Mesa. There’s always something new to explore and events are easy to find!

So much of the area has developed and become a downtown destination to rival our often over-packed neighboring downtown Gilbert.

Recently, Amy and I went on a moms night out to roundup of our favorite restaurants that you may or may not have been to just yet. Here’s a little round up of what we think you could love right in the heart of downtown.

XO,

Britt

Best grab and goTacos Chiwas, can you say delish. One of my personal favorites, tacos, burritos and margaritas. I may also be addicted to their Elote.

Best cocktail– If you’re looking to impress, head to 12West Brewing and order the Butterfly Effect cocktail. It features gin, lemon juice, butterfly pea tea, and comes served with a magic bubble that pops after its served. This is also a great spot to take out-of-towners or Downtown Mesa skeptics, because the upstairs patio views are incredible.

Favorite beerChupacabra Taproom. Tucked away on Robson, right off Main Street, this tiny taproom seats maybe only 30 customers, and feels like you stumbled into something special. They only serve adult beverages, so don’t come hungry, just thirsty!

Know that you can also plan a full brewery crawl across Downtown Mesa with stops at Desert Eagle, Oro Brewing and Cider Corps. Rumor has it there’s one or two other breweries, including BRI, coming to downtown Mesa in 2022!

Best dessertWorth Take Away. They have the best banana pudding in Arizona. They are constantly coming out with creative and delicious desserts and other scrumptious sammies. (We also like to order their food to go on our way to the Mesa Arts Center ‘Out to Lunch Concert Series’)

Kid friendly– Honestly all of the restaurants and bars in downtown Mesa are kid friendly. They can all accommodate taking your young ones along. But our top pick to bring kids to is Cider Corps as they have a very spacious location, delicious pizza and even some board games to keep your kids entertained.

All in all, Downtown Mesa consistently shows up and shows out. Whether it’s a quick happy hour, a trip to the IDEA museum, or the Natural History Museum, taking in a show or art class at the Mesa Arts Center, a first date, or just looking for a great vintage find, there’s something here for every occation, we promise!
