Escape Local: Glamping for Galentines, a Socially-Distanced Girls Overnight Experience

0

Many of us are craving travel experiences during these times that can be done safely but still keep an element of surprise and delight that real travel brings through new experiences and places.

It’s a little hard to have those adventures in your own backyard, right?

Wrong!

Literally…Cara, Chauncey and I had the most unique overnight experience in my parent’s backyard as a Galentine’s celebration, but we all agreed this would be perfect for a sweet 16, milestone birthday, anniversary or even a bridal shower/baby shower experience.

Glamping was new to us, none of us had done it before, but I think we’re all excited to do it again after the wonderful experience we had through Pitched PHX

What is Glamping

It’s “glamorous camping!” Cara told me she isn’t into camping at all, and even she swooned over this set-up. My parents have a larger property here in town and we had the set-up done there under the citrus trees. It brought the creature comforts (read: bathroom and kitchen) by it being in the backyard which made it easy and enjoyable.

What to Expect

The set-up/install is turn-key—it took Pitched PHX about 75 minutes to setup everything including a queen memory foam bed, in-tent movie theater and swoon-worthy décor that’s beautiful and festive. Outside of the tent, a picnic table with string lights, garland and even candles were staged perfectly for us to immediately start our festivities.

Also included was a mini heater (we’re all Arizona-native “cold” weather wimps), conversation cards and other details that made it a picture-perfect overnight experience.

You literally don’t have to lift a finger for this experience to come to life—that was the best part!

What to Do

For us, we used the evening as a Galentines night to celebrate these precious female friendships that we’ve given to each other as we’re all in the same phase of motherhood.

The in-tent movie theater was perfect for finally getting around to watching Bridgerton. The way the movie screen is set up allowed us to sign into any streaming service we have (you use your own log-in) to watch whatever movie or show you desire.

What to Eat

We added on the picnic table option, which I highly recommend! It centered us in the set-up for the full evening (plus, it was perfect weather).

Of course there was wine—it’ was a Galentines/Moms night.

We ordered a party platter from Macayo’s for dinner that gave us a full sampling of some of their most popular dishes including tacos, enchiladas, mini chimis and more. There was more than enough food for us and leftovers for the next day.

This was such a unique staycation experience — thanks to Pitched PHX for an incredible time! Not only were they easy to coordinate and the product was a 10/10, but they’re a locally owned business run by a husband and wife with two littles, just the type of business we love to support.
