Don’t let the “June Gloom” get you down this month. Here’s a list of some fun (and free) events going on around town to keep you and your kids entertained.

Astronomy Night at the Mesa Community College planetarium. June 6th in Mesa. This event is free, but you need to get a ticket. They are given out on a first come first served basis starting at 5:30. Showtimes are every half hour and they also offer telescope viewing of the moon and planets (if the skies are clear.) Check the link for more info.

Phoenix Children’s Museum free on First Friday Nights. June 6 from 5pm-9pm the museum is free to the public.

Summer Splash Tour. June 7th at the Gilbert Civic Center Park (50 E. Civic Center Dr. in Gilbert) and June 14th at Dr. AJ Chandler Park (3 S. San Marcos Pl. in Chandler). Events held from 9am-1pm and includes a bounce house, dunk tank, kiddy play land and more!! (June 21st in Peoria, June 28th in Glendale, and July 5th in Queen Creek).

Summer Concert Series at Superstition Springs Center in Mesa. Free concerts every Saturday in June starting on the 7th. Check the website to see who’s playing.

Movie in the Park! June 13 at 7:40 PM. Free showing of Despicable Me 2 at the Gilbert Community Center (130 N. Oak St. in Gilbert).
