Celebrate Dia De Los Niños with the Phoenix Zoo!

0

When our first daughter was born, one of my husband’s work colleagues, based in Mexico, told him how special her birthday was – April 30, Dia De Los Niños!  While not widely celebrated in the US, Dia De Niños is a special day in Latinx cultures celebrating the gift of children.  Think Mother’s Day or Father’s Day but for our kiddos!

One local celebration that turns out BIG for Dia De Los Niños is at the Phoenix Zoo!  Filled with music, FREE carousel rides, creature features, and other performances, this is a not-to-miss annual event!  While Zoo admission isn’t discounted or waived on this day of celebration, your regular admission DOES cover all of the Dia De Los Niños events at no extra charge!dia del ninos

And mama, you know East Valley Moms has you covered – subscribe to our weekly newsletter to learn how to win a family 4-pack of tickets for Sunday, April 30!

If you go, here are some things to know:

  • Performance schedules will be posted at the link above – if there is something you really want to see make sure you plan accordingly!
  • This is a VERY BUSY DAY (like Target the Saturday before Christmas busy) at the Zoo – get there early to make sure you gain entry!
  • Of course, snacks snacks snacks and water water water – don’t get caught mid-creature feature with a too-hungry tot!
  • Some performances will be inside in the a/c but plan for a regular zoo day of outdoor adventure!
