Today we’re sharing our favorite fun things to do with our school aged kids during spring break across the East Valley.
If this isn’t your year for a spring break vacation, or even a day trip, we’ve rounded up fun ideas that are within 30 minutes of home, no matter where you in the east valley.
Before you keep reading: Several of us plan on using our Pogo Passes over spring break. Remember that if you do have a Pogo Pass that’s probably the best way to do a bunch of things for FREE. Your pass gets you FREE admission to a multitude of venues (a full review of the passes is in this blog post). And don’t forget to use code EASTVALLEYMOMS for the best pricing no matter what sale is currently available! Get your pass here.
This is the season we love living in the Valley–perfectly 80 degree days, so many fun festivals, and we hope you enjoy exploring the East Valley with your kids this spring break!
XO,
East Valley Moms
- Paper Planet by Polyglot Theatre at Tempe Center for the Arts: In this interactive experience, children’s imaginations run wild as families come together to fill the space with fantastic paper creations. Children and their grown-ups are invited into a large-scale forest of cardboard trees and after exploring the space, they add to this strange and delicate planet using only paper, tape and their imaginations. Theatre and play merge in this magical place, as creatures, plants, costumes, characters, stories and adventures spring to life. $15/child ages 2-12, March 21-24. More info here.
- Bouldering Project day pass: Bouldering is fun and kids are naturals at it, so let them try climbing at the best climbing gym around. Included in a day pass is the kids-centric climbing area that was designed specifically for kids. (spring break camps available, or make it a parent/child date with a day pass; call for dates of camp)
- Go to an ASU baseball (FREE with pogo pass): Get FREE tickets to home games played by ASU with your Pogo Pass. No pre-coordination required to redeem, simply show your app at the box office on game day! Good or mid-week and Sunday games.Picnic at Salt River: Pack a picnic and head to a picnicking area at the Salt River to enjoy our perfect weather. Parking is $8/vehicle or free with an America the Beautiful Pass. (Plus, every 4th grader can get a FREE annual park pass, details here)
- Spring training game: Best deal we’ve found is typically at the Oakland A’s stadium in downtown Mesa; on certain games you can typically score $5 lawn seats. Here’s a full guide of spring training with kids.
- Bowling or Glow Golf (FREE with pogo pass at Fat Cats): Free weekly games of both bowling and glow golf are included with Pogo Passes (check for weekend availability in the app). Plus each Fat Cat’s locations have a different themed glow golf, making it fun to visit all three across Queen Creek, Mesa and Gilbert. (Mesa is our favorite: UFO/alien themed.)
- Krazy Air! Contributor Kira has the monthly pass for her three girls (worth its weight in GOLD). They can jump for two hours every day with the pass. She coordinates with friends and they can go get energy out. Krazy Air also has free wifi if you need to work while they jump.
- Hiking (our favorite kid-friendly trails here): Now that the weather is stunning, you can just head for the mountains! Pack water, your phone, good pair of tennis shoes and enjoy all the great hiking trails we have here in the East Valley and its surrounding areas. See the 6 Favorite East Valley Trails for Families.
