Who we are

East Valley Moms is a hyperlocal digital media company that celebrates and highlights what makes parenting in our area of the Valley unique. 

Our mission is to provide resources for local parents to have a more connected, joyful parenting experience across Mesa, Gilbert, QC, Chandler and Tempe.

Who we’re looking to join our team

We are dedicated to having a diverse and inclusive team of contributors published on East Valley Moms, ranging from marital status, to socio-economic status, to ethnicity, to religious diversity, and our contributor pool should reflect this.   

Ideal contributors are those who enjoy exploring the East Valley with their kids, who love an adventure across town with their mini-me’s, and who is the mom in your friend circle always asked for tips for kid-focused recommendations.  

We’re looking for moms who want to join us in exploring their own city, their neighboring cities, and have the time and energy to commit to exploring with us and creating new friendships across East Valley Moms. 

What you GIVE…

• 9 original posts per calendar year that fits within the brand and mission of East Valley Moms

• A 12-month commitment beginning February 1, 2024

• 6 free event submissions into our events calendar monthly 

• Reside within the East Valley area

• A passion for moms, kids and our community

• Availability to attend our social events {approximately 1 per quarter}

• A reliable, positive and fun personality!

What you GET…

• Your photo and bio on the East Valley Moms contributor page {with links to your personal blog and/or social media handles if you choose to share them}

• Involvement in our Contributors Facebook group

• Complimentary tickets to East Valley Moms events 

• Information and professional development in the areas of writing, blogging, SEO, social media, and event management

• New friendships and an amazing experience!

What it takes

We look to our volunteer contributor team to help EVM grow in breadth (by sharing, liking, and engaging online) and in-depth (with your awesome writing and insights!). 

It takes exploring the East Valley, and forming ideas and a point-of-view for providing tips, insights and advice for other parents exploring the area. It takes a heart for building up our local mom tribe and connecting with moms in the area.

Being a contributor on the team also requires you to create content and share your thoughts, opinions and family story on our online platform—it also requires you to be available for our contributor meet-ups and live events.

Content submitted should all fit within our published editorial guidelines and CMN guidelines.

I’m not much of a writer but want to be part of the team; what can I contribute?

We’re seeking a calendar coordinator to manage our free events calendar! If you have a heart for local moms and a love for finding all the fun, FREE events, apply here! 

The calendar coordinator will start off as a volunteer position with the opportunity to transition to a paid position after six months. 

The calendar coordinator will be part of our team, but not tied to the same writing requirements, instead they will manage our events calendar specifically.

I’ve been a contributor for EVM for the past 5 years. I truly love the community I get to be in with other moms who may have different perspectives, but are still right next to each other in this crazy parenting journey! It’s also been super cathartic for me personally to get to write about my motherhood experience which forces me to get very reflective and honest about some of the deeper or harder spaces in my life. It’s like therapy, but funner!
