Make Valentine’s cards for seniors at care facilities

February 4 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Share some LOVE this Valentine’s Day!

In February, the Mesa Public Library will collect and deliver Valentine’s Day cards for residents in nursing homes and group homes around Mesa.  We usually need around 15,000 cards made!  You can help!   Great project for student groups and families.  Children are welcome!

Come make cards at one of these workshops to make your cards (all supplies provided by the library during the workshops):

  • Main Library (64 E. 1st St, Mesa): Thursday, February 6, from 4PM-6PM
  • Red Mountain Branch (635 N. Power Rd, Mesa):  Tuesday, February 4, from 4PM-6PM
  • Dobson Branch (2425 S. Dobson Rd, Mesa):  Wednesday, February 5, from 4PM-6PM

You do not have to come and stay for the entire workshop time — come and make valentines any time during the workshop. Library staff will be available during the workshops to sign off on service hours!

You could also make cards at home (or school) and drop them off at the library.  If you make valentines at home, you can drop off them off during the workshops or any time the library is open during the week of Feb 3-8.  Drop off bins will be located in each of the library branches.

Valentines should include a caring message but you do not need to sign your name.  They do not have to have an envelope.

* For groups larger than 20, please contact Cory Black to make arrangements.  480.644.4638 or [email protected]

It is not necessary to click the Volunteer button to participate in this project.  Please do not wait to be contacted by the library.  Simply show up at the workshops or make and drop off your valentines.
