Where We Play: Mesa, Queen Creek, and Gilbert with my 3 year old and Newborn boys

Mom and Son on slideHi friends! Contributor Megan here, a mama to two boys ages 3 years old and 3 months old. We live on the edge of Mesa, Q.C. and Gilbert and today I’m sharing where we play in our neck of the woods for young kiddos.

XO,

Megan

Where we play:

We are BIG park hoppers and my son really loves a good play structure, splash pad, or swing set! We literally go all over the place! He also loves riding toys so any place with big open space for scooters, wiggle cars, and bikes.

  • Favorite park: It’s honestly so hard to pick a favorite park because we love so many different ones for different reasons.Cute boy on playground
  • Mansel Carter Oasis (Sossaman and Ocotillo) is a sure winner because it has the best splash pad in the summer, a pond with ducks, and a play structure.
  • But there are also tons of little pop-up parks on various corners in our neighborhood, Cadence at Gateway (Ellsworth and Ray). There is one with 3 separate slides that we frequent quite often.
  • Favorite neighborhood restaurant: Chase’s Diner! This is technically nowhere near my ‘hood, it’s in central Chandler but is 1000% worth the jaunt for us! The best breakfast skillets (served all day) in a fun 50’s diner atmosphere!
  • Favorite thing about your area for your family: While all the construction out here can be a nuisance at times, it just means that our area is growing–and FAST!

  • In the next few years there is going to be SO MUCH on this side of town, especially on the heels of the new Legacy Sports park that just opened up on Ellsworth and Pecos–restaurants and other entertainment are just a few short years away. We don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon, so our area is about to be a real family friendly scene that we’re so excited about!

  • Favorite play place (like a trampolinepark, etc.): Elevate Trampoline Park (Ellsworth and Ray) has Toddler Time which is 2 hours of jump time just for kids 6 and under from 10am-2pm for just $10 (no charge for parents who are just supervising). I love that we don’t have to worry about bigger kids bouncing my little guCute boy on splash pady up to the ceiling! LOL

  • Favorite free/nearly-free activity: On the last Friday of the month, there is a FREE Story Time at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship on Alma School and the 202 for kids 5 and under. 2 hours of stories, songs, crafts, snacks, and bounce houses–its the perfect way to kill a morning and quickly make it to lunch and naptime!

  • Favorite neighborhood class (this could be a music class, sports team, etc.): We absolutely loved and adored the infant/toddler music classes at Musicology in Chandler (Alma School and Warner) when Jacob was younger. It’s now too far for us to attend on a weekly basis, but I’m excited to get Aaron into the infant music class at the Musik Box in Gilbert (Williams Field and Val Vista) when he’s old enough.
