Today we’re talking all about the two splash pads in Payson that are now open for families!
It’s the perfect pit stop to break up a road trip with a fun break for kids, and Payson has two spots that will help get the wiggles out and have a meal/snack break other than in the car.

Payson’s Splash Pad at Green Valley Park
Newly opened in June 2024, Green Valley Park just opened the first splash pad officially in Payson city limits.
The splash pad offers bucket dumps, water cannons and smaller sprinklers for younger kids.
Green Valley Park is Payson’s biggest park, offering restrooms, a playground, walking path around a pond and more.
It’s open June – August from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and In May and September hours are limited to 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 3-6 p.m.
B. Diane McDaniel Community Park & Splash Pad
This is our favorite pit stop near Payson, located just off Highway 260, this is technically located in Star Valley, about five minutes outside of Payson city limits.
There’s two play grounds here, plus a zip line, splash pad and lots of green space.
If you’re looking for a place to picnic, this is the place for you–one portion of the park has shaded ramadas against beautiful large trees that’s perfect for a quick lunch on a longer road trip.
The splash pad is open daily 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Features include a bucket dump, water cannons and more.
Restrooms on site, and there’s enough parking if you’re pulling a camping RV/trailer.
