Painted Sky Park Review

0

Apache Junction has just opened a brand new park in the master planned community of Blossom Rock. Located off Ironwood and Ray, the community is still under construction but Painted Sky Park is now open to the public.

I took my toddler to check out the park ahead of its grand opening party and we were able to play at the smaller playground that’s targeted toward toddlers. The larger adventure style playground for older kids was getting some upgrades but from the plans we’ve seen, it looks pretty cool!

Keep reading for more about this new park, and it’s grand opening party happening soon!

Painted Sky Park Toddler Play

The toddler area is partially shaded, which is a big plus! It has a couple of play structures with slides, climbing equipment and swings. There’s also a small sand area that has diggers for kids.  The entire playground is surrounded by soft woodchips and plenty of benches for parents to sit while the kids play.

While there isn’t a ton of playground equipment for the littles, the one big perk of this park is its size.

The whole park is set on 16 acres which includes a 1.5-acre lake and plenty of open grass area for kids to run around.

There are several ramadas on the property for picnic lunches and small gatherings. The entire park area is surrounded by several walking and biking paths, so there’s something for everyone.

Miner’s Run at Painted Sky Park

The adventure playground, called Miner’s Run, is 3.5 acres and includes rope swings, a climbing wall and climbing structures for older children. This is the area that was still under some construction when we visited, so we couldn’t see a lot of the equipment, but I could tell there was a lot of stuff for kids to do.

Does Painted Sky Park have a Dog Park?

Painted Sky Park also includes a dog park (Ruff Ranch) that has fenced areas where pups can be off the leash to run around and play.

Overall, this park is a great addition to the Southeast Valley and especially for the newly developed communities in the area.

Apache Junction Parks and Recreation is hosting a grand opening celebration at Painted Sky Park on November 2, 2024. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by a movie in the park with a showing of Coco.
