  • Name:  Brittni Lamb
  • Age: 36
  • Location: We live in Central Phoenix but work in Mesa
  • Children (names and ages): Reagan (4), Hayden (2) and Jameson (3)

You founded a business! Tell us about your company.

My husband and I bought a company called Prepped AZ (This opportunity came up and we were so excited to use our gifts of cooking and serving others while building a business together!).

We specialize in paleo, AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) and vegan meals. Everything is Organic, gluten and dairy free. We cook in an industrial kitchen in Mesa and deliver all over East Valley, Scottsdale, North and Central Phoenix.

Tell us a little bit about your family!

My husband and I met in Santa Barbara, California, and we got married in 2015. We moved to Denver and had our first daughter, Reagan in 2017, then moved up to Fort Collins, CO, and had our second daughter, Hayden, in 2019.

As much as we loved the mountains, we moved to Phoenix for a job opportunity and to be closer to some of my family in 2020. Then earlier this year, had our baby boy, Jameson.

As a family we love going on outdoor adventures, visiting family in California, and enjoying yummy meals together.

You run your business with your spouse. How did you decide to join forces in life and business?

The business encompassed our shared passion of health and wellness as well as our unique gifting – Matt as the chef, and me as administrator.

Were you able to take maternity leave? Tell us about that experience.

I didn’t take a maternity leave this time around since we officially took over the company four days after I had my baby!

But, I took it easy! Matt is the cook, so my job is mostly the behind-the-scenes things such as staffing, social media, and overall communication with our clients.

The transition from the previous owner was super smooth as she was incredibly accommodating and helpful! I took a few weeks off from doing deliveries, but pretty much jumped full into everything else right after giving birth. Luckily, the work can all be done at home and on my phone while I’m nursing and/or kiddos nap times.

How has your marriage been impacted by your joint career-life?

We work so well together! I think I fall more in love with him as I see his passions being used and shared in order to bless and serve others. We are so excited that we get the opportunity to work together.

How do you make time for self-care in between all that you have going on?

This is a huge challenge at this stage in life. My self-care currently tends to be doing deliveries solo when I can and having the freedom to listen to whatever music or podcast I want! I also try to do online Pilates classes whenever I can fit them in.

What was your motivation to pivot your career to being an mompreneur?

I was a stay-at-home mama starting 6 months after I had my first baby.

I definitely love staying home and now being a mompreneur allows me to be with my kiddos most of the time while helping people plan healthy meals for their families. I really love that this job allows me to work (actually check things off the list) as well as be home with the kiddos.

What lessons have you learned in your career that you apply to parenting?

Not sure whether career or parenting taught me this, but I like to think of everything as having a season. Some seasons are waiting, some are hustling, some are stressful, some are care-free, but most are a combination of rejoicing and grieving at the same time.

How has motherhood impacted you personally and professionally?

Motherhood has been the hardest job I’ve ever had. Not being able to “clock-out” is a mental challenge for me.

However, I know this is my calling for this time of my life- to love and teach these kiddos that God has blessed me with. I am forever grateful that being a mom is my job, it is something I dreamed and prayed for since I was a girl.

  • Coffee order? Large coffee with oat milk
  • Favorite restaurant in the East Valley? Joe’s Farm Grill
  • Greatest challenge in your career thus far? Finding time to dream and plan vision for the future.
  • Embarrassing mom moment? Forgetting to put shoes on my two year old for a church event. I’m sure I’ve had countless others but that’s the first one I thought of!
  • Best mom advice you’ve been given? Think of your day with kids as a range from 0-10. – 10 being screaming tantrum, 0 being sleep/nap. Each day you will experience the range of these numbers and that is totally normal! That advice gave me a lot of freedom from feeling guilty I was doing something wrong every time my kid threw a tantrum or screamed at the top of their lungs- its normal!
  • Last Netflix show you binged? Ted Lasso
