Hi friend.
How are you?
I’m on day 2 of “social distancing” and my head is spinning. I’m navigating a new telework situation, a crashing stock market that directly impacts my job (therefore family and income) and like everyone, trying to figure out what the heck is happening to our world.
After my divorce 6 years ago I started journaling. It was a great way to express to myself how I was feeling and handling a difficult situation. I still do it time to time-mostly during an emotionally difficult time but also when things are going well.
There is no question that we are in an incredibly difficult time. I know I’m not alone in feeling scared, anxious and daily trying to find a silver lining. So today, I started journaling again.
These are unprecedented times for us. At this point, no one knows what the future holds for our families, the economy, our health…anything.
One day.. I want my children to have something to look back on in the words of their mom.
One day…hopefully many years from now when I have grandchildren of my own, I hope they look back at my writing (and the writing of their parents) to see how we all persevered as a family and society.
I hope you all stay healthy and check in on one another. Its ok to need each other right now.
