How to Book a Gilbert Fire Station Tour for Kids

0

Did you know you can book an exclusive fire station tour with the Gilbert Fire Department for your kiddos and their friends, totally FREE?

I recently gathered 12 of my closest friends to tour of one of Gilbert’s fire stations for the first time, and we all had a blast! Our group mainly consisted of tots ages 3-4 and a few babies tagged along as well.

The kids got to tour both inside the station and the garage where we saw fire engines, ambulances, and even got to play with some of the equipment! The crew was so patient with the kids and really took the time to cater to each of their own individual interests.

If you’re interested in booking your own private tour, keep reading for all of the details!

Group Sizes and Ages

Each station can accommodate up to 20 children in a tour. You must have at least 5 people in your group with a minimum 7:1 child to adult ratio.

All ages are welcome and adults must stay with the group the entire time.

Tour Times and Duration

Tours take place between 9am and 4pm and will conclude by 5pm. Tours last between 30-60 minutes, depending on group size and crew availability.

Fire Station Location

You cannot select which location you would like to tour. After your request has been received, one will be selected for you based on availability.

Scheduling

You can book your tour up to 3 months in advance. A minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is required.

A Special Touch

Consider a way to say thank you to these first responders who are taking time out of their day!

As you’ll learn on your tour, they buy and make all of their own food. After our tour our group gave the crew a batch of homemade cookies to say thank you.

Important Notes

If the crew receives a call during the tour, keep in mind that your entire group will need to be prepared to leave the station immediately.

In addition to station tours, you can submit a request to have a fire truck be displayed at a community event. The firefighters always make these appearances special for kids by opening up the doors and letting kids sit inside the engine, handing out firefighter hats, and answering all of your kiddo’s questions!

If you’re looking for a fire truck to show up at your child’s upcoming birthday party, Gilbert Fire does not attend birthday parties. I recommend booking Camelback Fire for your party instead!

Another awesome fire department experience in the valley is Hall of Flame Museum.
