Fall fun at the Arizona State Fair

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, it’s that time of year again! Time to dust off your cowboy boots and head on out to the state fair. The Arizona state fair has a little something for everyone. Whether you head out during the day with your kids or at night with your friends there is plenty of fun to be had. Here are just a couple of things to look forward to. Be sure to check out the fair’s main web page for further details and more fun.

For the kids

Stop by the Great American Petting Zoo. Ducks, llamas, and pigs..oh my!

Read & Ride. Print off an official book report form and fill it out and kids ages 5-14 get to ride 3 rides for free!

Kidz Bop Kids in concert. General admission seating is free with fair admission.

Play Space is full of toys, games and crafts for kids ages 8 and younger.

For the Whole Family

Check out the full concert series. There is a wide variety of artists performing including Trace Adkins and Snoop Dogg.

Star Trek: The Exhibition will be at the fair. It’s one of the largest collections of Star Trek artifacts available for the public. It’s an extra $5 but it just might be worth it.

Check out the demolition derby on October 11, 12, and 13. Free with fair admission!

The BMX Freestyle team will be showing off on October 17 and 18 at 3 pm, 5 pm, and 7 pm.

High School Rodeo is on Thursday October 24.

All Star Monster Trucks will be competing against each other on November 1-3.

Good to know

Free Fridays. Spend $40 or more at Fry’s grocery store and get two free adult admission tickets for any Friday. All you have to do is bring your receipt. (Promotion begins on Oct. 1)

Discounted Parking is only $5 instead of the normal $10. It is located on 19th and Encanto.

Admission is only $2 before 2 pm on the weekends

We Care Wednesdays gets you in for free with specific charitable donations. Check the website to see what gets you in and when.

 

And I haven’t even started talking about all the delicious greasy fair food, exciting rides, and the people watching (who doesn’t love some great people watching?!?).

Regular admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors over 55 and kids 5-13. Kids younger than 5 are free. If you’re really excited about the fair you can get a season pass for $18 that will give one person unlimited admission.

  • The fair is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • It opens at noon Wed-Fri
  • It opens at 10 Sat-Sun
  • Everything closes down at 10:30 nightly.
