Arena 23 Sports Chandler: Kids Birthday Party Review

0

Today we’re reviewing Arena 23 Sports Chandler birthday party packages.

When the time came to celebrate my son’s 8th birthday, we quickly ran out of ideas. He’s a June baby and that means unless there is a pool involved, the party needs to be inside.

I am not the birthday party mom. I prefer to do something small with the family and let the kids choose a fun activity with a friend or two. This year, though, my son wanted a party.

What is Arena 23 Sports?

It’s an indoor sports simulator sports game zone. It’s in Chandler off Arizona Ave and Warner.

There are a total of 7 different sports simulators, so there is something for everyone, from boxing to soccer, skiing to football.

Mom tip: The minimum age requirement is 7 and for good reason – the simulations are definitely geared for bigger kids and adults. Also, close toed shoes are required. They may be simulators, but it’s still an active play experience.

If your kid is even a little bit into sports – this place is for them. The owner is a former Phoenix Suns player and you can feel his lifelong passion for sports as soon as you walk in the door.

Arena 23 Sports Birthday Party Packages

Arena 23 offers two inclusive party packages – Silver and Gold.

We opted for the Gold package which is $10 more a head because every kid gets a VIP pass to come back with that package and I thought that would be money better spent than a party favor bag. (To each their own, but I don’t love the bags of candy and disposable toys that never make it out of the car!)

The Gold package also provides a cool branded t-shirt for the birthday kid and dessert for each party guest.

Aside from picking the party package, the only thing I had to do prior to the party was encourage everyone to sign a waiver beforehand, which is pretty standard.

When we got there, our party host greeted us and handled the rest. With the patience of a saint, she got all the kids (10 and under) wristbands and explained how everything works.

They truly handle everything and while the kids played, the parents got to watch and hang out and mingle.

What’s included in Arena 23 Sports birthday packages

I will say, I don’t truly expect it to be as turnkey as it was and brought Costco pizza and a cake. We could have easily done without. I provided food due to the time of the party (6 p.m.) and location was a bit of a drive for our friend group.

The cake was totally not needed since they provided every kid with ice cream (the birthday kid got to pick the flavor from the ice cream and cereal bar in the lobby!). They even had a lighter ready for the birthday candles, plates, napkins, cups and soda, too.

Next time (yes, my son already decided where is 9th birthday will be) I’ll try to do a time in-between meals and forget the cake! I’ll just show up and fully embrace the all-inclusive party life!

Mom-hack: we had way too much leftover pizza and found some teenage boys that were there to take it off our hands.
