Freestone Park’s Train Rides
We rode the train last weekend and my kids had a BLAST.
The price to ride the train is $2.50 for each person (my one year old was free.) The train runs weekends only, with hours varying through the year.
Keep in mind that this part of the park is only open on weekends seasonally (completely closed June-August); Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10 am – 6 pm.
We went on Saturday afternoon and did quite a lot! We rode the train, walked around the lake, and let my two year old son enjoy a couple of the other fun rides (mini ferris wheel, wave runner and carousel).
buget hack: Get Out Pass holders get 4 FREE tickets for the train rides annually, just show the ticket counter your pass on your phone. [The Get Out Pass is an annual pass that you pay one price for complementary admission to 70+ local kid-friendly attractions. Use code XOXOEVM for the best price on the pass]
Mom Walk Meet Up at Freestone Park
If you are reading this and interested in coming to Freestone more often, I host weekly walks at this park!
This is a great chance to meet local moms! We walk every Saturday morning at 9:00 am and meet right next to the entrance of the train.
We do laps around the lake and push our strollers. We have also had moms bring their kids on scooters, bikes, or simply just walking! Join in, I promise you will enjoy yourself! You can find Let’s Strolls page also on Instagram @letsstroll_
What else is there to do at Freestone Park with Kids?
Some of our favorite things to do here:
- Pack oats to feed the ducks
- Play at one of 3 playgrounds here
- Get an ice cream shop from the concessions stand
- Ride the mini ferris wheel (next to the park)
- Fish in the lake (fish stocked beginning every September; kids under 10 do not need fishing license)
- Skate park for older kids
