Why does it seem like from Halloween to New Years there is a mad dash of holiday craziness? It used to be a lot easier to connect and do holiday activities with my husband.
Once we had kids, the focus really shifted to helping them find joy in the season.
I hope these ‘12 Dates of Christmas’ will help you and your significant other make some time for each other during the busy holiday season!

- Downtown Chandler: Get your tickets now for Sippin’ Santas Pub Crawl on December 14th. The list of participating bars and restaurants is too good to pass up! They each have a signature drink for sipping.
- Stay Home: Make a cocktail or holiday beverage at home – talk about your goals for the new year and reflect on the past year. Here is a list of some of our favorite holiday cocktails!
- Holiday Pop-Up Bar: Get into the holiday spirit at Miracle Bar, a festive Christmas-themed rooftop pop-up located on the 13th floor of the Hilton in Downtown Phoenix. Enjoy breathtaking views, dazzling holiday decor, and a menu filled with Christmas-inspired cocktails and delicious appetizers.
- Stay Home: Snuggle up on the couch and watch a holiday movie. Some of our favorites are Elf, White Christmas, Love Actually, and It’s A Wonderful Life. We have a full Christmas movie guide here, too!
- Volunteer Together: Find a local service project or place to volunteer. Give back a little this holiday season and spend time with your spouse. Need an idea of where to start? Volunteer in the dining rooms at St. Vincent de Paul or Paz de Cristo. If you feel more comfortable packing boxes of food, Feed My Starving Children, United Food Bank, or Midwest Food Bank would be great places to start!
- Downtown Phoenix: Go ice skating under the stars at City Scape. Then hit up Bitter & Twisted for their Sippin’ Santa event, which features their restaurant decked out in Christmas cheer and some top notch holiday cocktails!
- Stay Home: Have a game night at home with just the two of you. Our favorite is Bananagrams!
- Gilbert: Stop for coffee on your way to stroll the Riparian Reserve at Riparian After Dark. Purchase your tickets now for their holiday lights. Local food and drinks vendors will be on-site serving delicious holiday treats!
- Stay Home: Wrap presents together and make a fun Christmas-themed cocktail from our Holiday Cocktail Guide to go along with the wrapping. Having someone to talk to while you wrap presents might make it a little more enjoyable.
- Downtown Mesa: Merry Main Street Ice Skating opens on November 24th. Put on your winter gear and enjoy the outdoor ice rink. It is bound to give you all the Christmas feels. Stop by one of our local favorites, Chupacabra Taproom, afterwards for a post-skate beer or two! If cider and pizza is more your jam check out Veteran owned Cider Corps while you enjoy Myke’s Pizza!
- Stay Home: Do a little holiday baking together and whip up a batch of cookies. Bonus: the kids will be excited to eat them with you the next day!
- Gilbert: Sing, dance and “prop” along to your favorite films at the Majestic Movie Party! Relive treasured movie-moments at hosted screenings with interactive props included in the admission.
